We are very lucky to have a range of experience in our team. One thing we all share is the passion to make things happen.

Founder & Youth Mentor

Sara

Sara has over 13 years experience working with children and young people with special needs and their families. A qualified Youth Mental Health first aider, Sara is also studying for a Psychology degree. She enjoys working with groups in schools and 121 Mentoring.

Sara also has lived experience of neurodiversity, mental health challenges and EBSA.

When she isn't working, Sara is most likely to be found out in the garden with her animals.

Founder & Youth Mentor

Laura

Laura has 22 years experience working with children and young people, over 14 years being within the voluntary sector. She has a masters in Charity Marketing and Fundraising but still loves delivering fun sessions.

Laura is very crafty and enjoys being outside. She often merges these two interests and is found constructing something in the garden.

When Laura isn't working she is usually standing on the sidelines of a netball tournament.

Tutor

Clare

With 30 years experience, Clare is an ex Headteacher and qualified advanced skills teacher. She can teach Maths at all levels and English and Science up to KS3. Clare enjoying tutoring for Be You Project and her kind and calm nature helps her build essential relationships with the girls and young women she works with.

Clare has a collection of cats, all named by her son after different types of desserts!! Dont forget to ask her what they are.

Youth Mentor

Sarah

Sarah has been working with children and young people for 10 years. She has worked with SEND, Young Carers and is a Domestic Abuse Champion. She is also trained as a designated Safeguard Lead.

Sarah is a keen photographer and can often be seen hiding in the background of weddings (with permission!) capturing the special day. She is also reponsible snapping all the fun we have at our sessions and groups.

Youth Mentor

Rhys

Rhys has 15 years experience working with children and young people. He has worked in schools and was a Young Carer Lead for WBC. Currently studying to be a Social Worker, Rhys enjoys delivering mindfullness workshops.

Fun fact - Rhys is the 'face' of WBC so you might have seen him on the pop up banners at events.

When he isn't working Rhys is usually out running with his best friend, Olive the dog.

Philosophy

At Be You Project, we take pride in treating everyone as an individual. We believe that with time, patience and nurturing, there is nothing that can’t be accomplished.

Above all, our strength lies in making everything we do fun and we do it with friends.

A social network is such an important part of growing up but it isn't a given. We provide opportunities for connection and friendships to form so the girls and young women that use Be You Project can become support for one another.
