Bloom Alternative Provision is coming to Newbury in September 2026. The first of its kind in the local area but a much needed provision in many families lives.
Why we exist
Too many girls who learn and feel differently are struggling to find their place in education.
For girls who are autistic, neurodivergent, experiencing SEMH needs, anxiety, EBSA (Emotionally Based School Avoidance), or facing other barriers to attending mainstream school, the traditional education system often isn’t built with them in mind. Many spend years masking their difficulties, trying to fit in, and feeling misunderstood. As a result, increasing numbers of girls are missing school, becoming isolated, and losing confidence in themselves and their future.
At Bloom, we believe every girl deserves to feel safe, understood, and valued for who she is. We provide a nurturing environment where girls can rebuild confidence, strengthen their emotional wellbeing, develop healthy relationships, and reconnect with learning in a way that works for them.
We want every girl to know that she doesn’t need to change who she is to belong.
Our vision is a future where girls who learn and feel differently are understood, supported, and empowered to achieve their potential. By combining educational support with a strong focus on social, emotional and mental wellbeing, we help girls build confidence, develop resilience, form meaningful relationships, and create positive pathways into adulthood.
What we do
Bloom offers nature-based educational support and alternative provision for girls aged approximately 10 –18 years who may be unable to access full-time education or who need additional support alongside school.
Our programme combines learning, wellbeing, creativity, animals, nature, and peer connection in a calm and supportive environment. We place social, emotional and mental health at the heart of everything we do, recognising that girls cannot thrive in education until they feel safe, regulated, and connected.
At the core of all our sessions is FUN! In all shapes and sizes because we realise that not everyone has the same idea of what fun is. We want the girls to enjoy their time with us, the world is a tricky place to navigate so a place where you can just 'Be You' is invaluable.
